The aim for this website that analysis the feasibility of having a necessary event in China, this aim will cover in the website and relevant with the points.

2. Travel Flows

2.1 International Tourist Arrivals

According to the graph1, the total number of international tourists flows to China had been decreasing slightly after 2007. Number of international tourist arrival decreased from 131.87million to 126.47millions between 2 years. Although international guest arrivals went up on 2010, it full down from 133.76million to 128.49million in the after 4 years. In general, the trend of international tourist arrivals is decrease, even there were some fluctuations.

2.2 Inbound Tourism Statistics

According to research inbound tourism on 2016, the number of international tourist arrival keep stably growth in the half of 2016, approximate 67.87 million overseas guests traveled to China, which had a 3.8% rise over the same period of the previous year. Tourists from Asian countries were about 43.23million which count 63.7% in the first half of 2016. Besides, tourists from America and Europe were up to 8.42 and 12.83 which account for 12.4% and 18.9% respectively. Meanwhile, South Korea is still the top source country which about 13.33 million visitors. Based on the number of tourist, the followed 16 source countries were: Japan, United States, Vietnam, Russia, Philippines, Mongolia, Malaysia, Singapore, India, Thailand, Canada, Australia, Germany, Indonesia, UK, and France. The top destination is Beijing that is the most popular destination for international tourists, in the first half of 2016, about 1,982,000 overseas tourist traveled to Beijing. Most of them, about 353,000, were from America, which showed a 3% increase over the same period of the previous year. Tourists from Japan and South Korea witnessed a downward trend by 5.6% and 6% respectively, reaching about 115,000 and 191,000. Inbound tourism has significant impact to China because it can improve the GDP and bring the different culture to China. (Travelchinaguide.com, 2016)

2.3 Two Types of Tourism : First type is sightseers, there were about 21.18million coming to China because leisure, festivals or events which count for 31.2% in international tourism arrivals, it was the largest types among all visitors. Business travel was the second group that about 13.71 million visitors which count for 14.8% of them in international tourism arrivals. Approximate 10.04 million came China for work purpose. Besides, there were 2.31 million visitors which account for 3.4% for visiting friends and relatives.

3 Domestic travel

3.1 Domestic Tourism Industry Develops

Domestic travel as an important part of tourism in China because domestic travel benefits from huge cardinal number of population in China. Since 1987, domestic travel has developed significantly as a new industry in recent year. As the tourism market develops and people’s income increase, more Chinese think travel within the China is the best way to spend holiday, especially in two statutory holidays that are The National Day Holiday, from first October to seventh and Spring Festival, the number of tourist increase during the peak seasons. Because the domestic tourism industry become the popular industry, China develop domestic tourism strongly that build, expand or reconstruct 25,000 toilets at tourist attractions all over the country, there were more than 15,000 toilets, have been completed or under construction that count for 60% in the first half of 2016. And about 12,050 star-rated hotels submitted data to the China National Tourism Administration which took up 95.05% of all star hotels in the first quarter of 2016. (Travelchinaguide.com, 2016) So the events conduct in the statutory holiday that is the best time because people have enough time to there.

3.2 Domestic Tourism Industry Trend

In the past 10 years, China’s domestic tourism market increased by 10% on average each year. And Chinese domestic tourism industry provided service to 3.26 billion tourists on 2013 – a 10.3% year-on-year increase. In 2014, China’s domestic tourism industry is reported to have grown by 16.3% from the last year, provided service to 3.63billion tourists.

4. Transport

The transport system is development in China, there are many types of transport to choose, such as airplane, train, boat and bus for traveling between different cities. The main transport in China is train network, and the national rail network is one of the biggest of the world. The train network provide service to all provinces in China, with the exception of the special administrative region of Macau. And the ticket for is much cheap than airplane, but train has the almost same speed with airplane between main cities in China, tourists spend less money but the same time and convince ways to arrival the destination.

Since the late 1990s, the air travel also had the strong growth, main cities in the different provinces all have the airport, the famous city for international tourist even have two airports, such as Beijing and Shanghai. Besides, Shanghai also received the price of the best improvement of its services, thanks to its role in the welcome of the tourists during the World Fair of 2010. (Chinatravel.com, 2016)

5. Tourism Resources in China

5.1 Natural Resources

China is a huge country and rich in the tourism resources, it has spectacular landscapes, historical sites, scenic spots and varied national customs. Visitors travel to China is attracted by meandering rivers and green mountains in the south of the Yangtze River and by grasslands and forests in North China. According to the research, Li River is the most popular attraction for visitors who from all over the world because there is a special event is called Li River cruise that from Guilin to Yangshuo is the important part of any journey to northeastern Guangxi Province. With its amazing landscape and taste of a life far away from the urban, tourists feel serenity when they arrival here because mist-covered karst mountains dot the landscape. Visitors can see the different finishing method that using cormorants to catch fish, Li River is the leisure attraction which visitors leave the concrete metropolis, enjoy the air without pollution. 5.2 Cultural Resources

The Great Wall of China is longest wall and biggest ancient architecture in the world. Hundreds of millions visitors have been to the Great Wall of China after it opened to the tourist as an attraction, it is stretching from Gansu Province in the west to Shanhaiguan on the Bohai Sea in the east. It has 7000 years’ history that has mal, 2016) The most popular part of the Great Wall of China is Badaling section in the 8 sections, there are more than 10million visitors come to visit some parts of the Great Wall of China that near Beijing on each year, (Account and New, 2016), that it is more easily accessible and where it snakes impressively over the mountain peaks. It was rebuilt, built and maintained to protect the northern borders of the Chinese Empire from the nomadic tribe attack from the north between the 5th century BC and the 16th century.

6 Case study

There is an example for case study that is Spring Festival in China. The Spring Festival is the most distinctive Chinese folk ceremonious traditional festival, which means New Year’s eve and the first day in the year, commonly known as "Spring Festival". In the traditional sense, the Spring Festival starts from the first day of the year until the fifteenth day of the year, among them with New Year's eve and the first day of the first lunar month. China's Han ethnic and minorities would conduct different activities to celebrate the Spring Festival during these days. These activities consist by jubilee blessing, worship deities and ancestors, and pray for good income. Spring Festival is the most important festival for Chinese, almost people will go back to hometown and stay together with family, it is similar as Christmas in UK. Because there are different cultures in the different cities, so Chinese have the different traditional in New Year Festival. On the whole, people live in the north of China eat noodles, opposite people live in the south of China eat dumplings. But there are many same things in different cities, small children will receive the money given to them as a lunar new year gift. Every family set a firework off in the street and open the light overnight.

7. Strengths and Weaknesses

7.1 Strengths

China is a safe and stable country in policy, tourist do not need to worry about the dangerous thing happen in China. Secondly, different city has different tradition and culture, tourists can learn the lots of knowledge about history and culture in many destinations. Although China is a huge country, there are many convenience transports for tourists travel between different cities, include airplane, train, road way and water way, it is cheap and convenience. And there are many facilities for tourism in every attraction, hotel from 1 star to 5 star near the attraction, and provide restaurant and disposable toilet requisites to customers.

7.2 Weakness

Comparatively, the cost for travel to China increase because the RMB appreciation and the exchange rate is fluctuating, so leading many potential international tourists are turning to other destination where is cheaper than China. Secondly, the recession of economy in American and European countries causes tourists spend less money in traveling when American and European tourist lacks novelty and competitiveness for the traditional travel itineraries and products. Thirdly, China national tourism administration invest less effort in promoting inbound reasons make the country’s image decrease then has had a bad impact on inbound tourism market. And last but not least, the seriously problem in air pollution and food security are arising in recent year cause many international tourists cancel their plans for travel to China because they worry about the safe and condition in journey.

8. Recommendations

Based on the research tourism industry in china, there are a few recommendations for conducting events in China. Firstly, the event should conduct on the holiday time that tourist have enough time to travel, such as National Day Holidays from 1st October to 7th October. Secondly, the destination of events should set in the famous city which people can arrival the destination conveniently according to the different methods, such as Shanghai, Shanghai is an international city in China, residents accept the new thing quickly and love to join the events. And the lastly, choosing the location of events should consider does the tourism facilities near the location of events, such as toilets, restaurants and hotels. And the target market should focus on tourists from Asian, because this group count more than 63% for international tourist arrivals.

9. Conclusion : On the whole, the tourism industry of China is developing strongly whatever inbound travel from overseas or domestic travel. Because there are lots of landscape and history of attraction in China. Asian countries are the main market for inbound tourism of China, and the top destination for international tourists is Beijing, and the top attraction is the Great Wall of China. The most important festival is Spring Festival that is between the first of year to 15th day of year, every city cerebrates it, although there are different traditional actives between different cities.
