Macbeth's Journey Hannah bridgers & Dawson Grimes

Quote-I know i am Thane Of Glamis (1.3.71) -- He is showing he is an Authority Figure.

A Protagonist of High Estate--A King, prince, a general

Has a Tragic Flaw- Quote- I have no spur to prick the side of my intent, but only vaulting ambition. (1.7.25-27)~ What Macbeth is saying here is that he has a lot of ambition. Ambition is Macbeth's main tragic flaw throughout the story.

Gains Sense of Urgency- feels the need to "hurry up and do things"~ Quote- For Banquo's Issue I have field my mind, for them the gracious Duncan I have murdered.(3.1.65-66) ~ The meaning of this quote is to show that Macbeth believes he must hurry up and do the deed. He has hurried to kill Duncan or else he worries he may never do it.

Misreads info or rationalizes actions- "Thou shalt not live that i may tell pale-hearted fear it lies" (4.2.43) What this is saying is that he needs to kill Macduff to be sure nothing stands between him and the crown.

Murder, exile, alienation of enemies and allies- "Mucduff has fled to England" (4.2.43) This is showing that Macduff has become fearful of Macbeth and leaves Scotland and flees to England.

Gradual isolation of a tragic hero- "Heard no more. It is a tale told by an idiot full of sound and fury signifying nothing" (5.4.26-28) This is signifying that after lady Macbeth dies Macbeth is basically stating that nothing will make him as happy again as she did.

Mobilization of opposition against him- "Let every soldier hew him down a bough And bear ’t before him. Thereby shall we shadow" (5.4.4-5) This means that he is referring to the soldiers that have been rallied up.

Recognition of tragic flaw but too late- "I am in blood stepped in so far that should i wade no more returning were as tedious as goo'er."(3.4.136-138) Macbeth is stating that is he to far gone to return. It is better to keep going in this blood trail then to try to go back because he is to far deep. You cannot take back what was already done so now its just as easy to keep killing.

Death of a tragic hero- {Enter Macduff with Macbeth's head} (narration line (5.8.53-54))- They never show that Macduff killed Macbeth but it placed in the narration lines that Macduff enters with Macbeth's head, which signifies that Macbeth is dead.

Restoration of the natural order of things- "Hail king of Scotland" (5.8.59) At the end of the story the people shout hail king of Scotland because Macbeth is no longer in charge and killing people but now Malcolm is king, which is how the kingdom was originally suppose to be passed down. He is the rightful king.
