THE YNOT NAME

When Tony and his wife Cyndi founded Ynot over 23 years ago, they made the decision to put Tony’s name on every location and box of food they prepared. (Ynot is Tony spelled backwards - a throwback to his childhood nickname). Using Tony’s name is our testament to the relentless commitment we have to high quality, hand-crafted food. When Tony’s brother Harry joined the company, their shared childhood experience of cooking alongside their Italian parents and grandparents, informed not only their love of good food and authentic Italian flavors, but also time spent around the family dinner table.

Everyone at Ynot knows that family dinners are harder and harder to make happen these days, which is why we want you to consider our restaurant your dining table, and our staff your family. Whether you’re ordering in any of our delicious food or coming to our restaurant, we’ve made your food with the same quality and care we would make for our own family, so that you can enjoy it with yours. This is the Ynot way and this is “Y” we’re honored to share our table with you and your family.

THE DISILVESTRO FAMILY'S RECIPE for success

Tony would provide great food and a superb customer experience underany name. He learned the lesson of treating employees and guests like family long ago, as a kid just starting out working at pizzerias catering to the vacationers near Cape May on his native New Jersey Shore. Tony and older brother Harry started as dishwashers, eventually graduating to delivering pizza pies. When Tony learned the art of twirling pie dough there was no turning back; pizza was his future.

So when thinking of opening his own pizza place, his recipe for successwas simple – offer customers a relaxed atmosphere perfect for enjoying great food with family, friends, and even the gang from work. It’s a recipe he and wife, Cyndi, haven’t changed since opening Ynot’s original Great Neck location in 1993.

By 1996, Tony’s job was going so well, brother Harry couldn’t resist the urge to return to pizza. Today, Tony and Harry still run the show, with their wives Cyndi and Theresa, and their older children working at Ynot as well.

But running Ynot takes more people than those named DiSilvestro. No matter, because as far as Tony is concerned, the extended family now includes over 300 employees spread out among 6 locations in Great Neck, Kempsville, Ghent, Greenbrier, Great Bridge and the Virginia Beach Oceanfront.

THE FAMILY FAVORITE

The DiSilvestro family considers it a personal mission to ensure everyone enjoys their hand-tossed pizza and other world-class traditional Italian dishes.

For generations, our family has always prided itself on remaining committed to the highest standards of quality. It’s about bringing families together in a warm casual atmosphere and providing delicious fresh quality food at a great value.

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BE A FRANCHISEE?

Although business ownership or management experience is a definite plus, we have no set background requirement or preset guidelines for the ideal franchisee. The only true recipe for success is the Ynot Italian franchise system itself. If you are willing to put trust in proven, successful systems and rely on the leadership team that has seen so many succeed before you; you're well on your way to making a wonderful franchisee.

COMMUNITY CITIZENSHIP

It’s The Ynot Way and it’s all-encompassing, from attention to detail in ingredients and recipes; to treating customers like family; to developing employees with care. It also means giving back to the communities, by heavily supporting everything from Little League teams and school fundraising events to supporting and contributing to charities like CHKD and the Special Olympics.

After much planning, we launched our very own non-profit organization, The Ynot Educate Foundation. Our mission is to provide educational grants to elementary and middle schools in the region. The Ynot Educate Foundation talks with local school districts and determines which programs are right for the charity participation-including in-store Spirit Nights, event sponsorships and annual donations.

As the title sponsor for YnotTix.com, we are able to partner with local venues such as the Ted Constant Center for the Performing Arts. Additionally, we have established relationships with local collegiate and professional athletic teams including the Old Dominion University Monarchs, the Norfolk Tides and the Norfolk Admirals. Each season we are happy to support both the teams and their hungry fans through our sponsorship and vending options.

Although it is a small token of our gratitude, we are honored to support a variety of local organizations since 1993!
