What about the Science ...
CleanShield Disinfectant contains molecules of the right shape and orientation to penetrate both lipophilic and hydrophilic barriers (cell walls, capsules and plasma membranes), it can add complexity to divalent ions such as calcium magnesium and can influence the normal functioning of proteins so that the micro-organism cannot function effectively and ultimately dies.

CleanShield Disinfectant works through a process of cell wall intrusion, complexation of key cations and disruption of protein functioning. Several ingredients act as powerful wetting and penetrating agents to penetrate outer cell defences, then transport other key ingredients to protein sites and disrupt normal functioning.
Through these mechanisms, CleanShield Disinfectant is able to adversely affect both cellular organisms such as bacteria, fungi and moulds, as well as non-cellular organisms such as viruses.
TESTS & RESULTS
FRUIT WASH TRIALS TEST
Half of the samples were submerged in Fruit Wash for 2 minutes then allowed to dry. After 21 days, the other samples succumbed to mould, yet the samples exposed to Fruit Wash remain pristine.
After a short period of time, the untreated carton of plums became affected with mould, while the carton of plums treated with Fruit Wash remained unaffected.

PIGS FARM TEST
“About 2 weeks ago, we began testing disinfectants on one of the eight stalls in a stable, where newly-weaned piglets were kept. On this farm, there is a special situation for each new round of piglets: when the type of food changes, they are having diarrhea and are given antibiotics through the water. This week, we have started to change their food, and as a result, they started having diarrhea. However, we could see that the pigs we sprayed with about 500ml daily, at a concentration o1 to 9, were not as affected by diarrhea as others.
The pigs are now clean, happier and without showing worrying signs of diarrhea.
The partial conclusion was that by spraying the disinfectant daily, we managed to keep. the level of bacteria, in that stall, low enough to avoid affecting the piglets..”

PRAWN FARM TEST
The main trials were focused on extending the shelf life of prawns once grown and harvested.
Testing was conducted in 1000 insulated tanks containing 300kg of fresh prawns in each. Contact time was held at 12 hours (overnight storage) after which representative samples of prawns are drained and bagged in sealed clear plastic bags to accelerate bacterial degradation.
Untreated prawns were unfit for display or consumption at 10 days. Storage bags exhibited excessive liquid in bottom due to microbial breakdown of meat. Prawns treated with 1000 ppm CleanShield Disinfectant concentrate remained fit to display and eat at 15 days with no slime, odor, or taste reduction. Very little liquid was detected in the bags. Appearance remained the same as fresh prawns.
Subsequent to these trials several 600kg batches treated with 1000 ppm CleanShield Disinfectant were shipped to market for customer reaction. Result was no detectable difference from fresh prawns after 15 days.
