My parents raised me to treat everyone I come across in this crazy, upbeat world with kindness and respect. It is a part of who I am. There are so many individuals who are fighting battles, that we simply do not know about.
At the age of 3, I would learn to say please and thank you. At the age of 8, I would learn to accept others for who they are, regardless of our unique differences. At the age of 13, I learned that there will be people who are cruel and demeaning, you will have to be the bigger person and stay true to who you are; remain kind and stand up to the wrong. At the age of 17, I learned that so many people try to cope with their difficulties in their lifetime, without even mentioning it to a soul. At the age of 20, I learned that there will be people who do not want to see you succeed. It is up to you to let those people go, and move on. It will be hard, but it is for the best. And at the age of 21, I learned that my kindness has made me who I am today. I am the friend who makes others laugh when they are upset. I am the daughter who will turn any bad mood around because she knows when her mother or father is feeling down. I am the sister who will always be your best friend in life. I am the student who listens to the teacher and completes her work. I am the worker who appreciates her boss and does what is told. Everything that I was taught when I was younger, made me who I am today.
