Fernside Classic presented by TriHealth

Thank you for supporting the 2018 Fernside Classic! Because of you, over $150,000 in net revenue was raised to help serve grieving children and families in our community. All of Fernside's services are offered free of charge, so your support for this event helps make a difference!

All 39 of our Silent Auction baskets were sold, bringing in $9,130 in proceeds for Fernside! Thank you to everyone who donated items for the silent auction! A special thank you to the Fernside Groups who put together some of our most popular baskets!

This year our guest speaker was Greg Mancz, Center for the Houston Texans . Greg inspired the crowd with his moving reflection of what Fernside meant to him, after his father passed. Greg was one of the many NFL players who participated in My Cause My Cleats, showcasing Fernside, his charity organization.

Greg generously donated his cleats to the live auction raising $2,700 for Fernside!
"Losing my father at the age of 11 was the worst event of my life. For #mycausemycleats I want to thank Fernside, A Center for Grieving Children, for being the organization to get me to feel like a kid who could do life again. They taught me that everyone will grieve differently, but that a support group for children and their families can help you get through the traumatic experience and make you not feel so alone"
Greg Mancz and Vicky Ott, Executive Director of Fernside

Local 12's Bob Herzog kicked off the Live Auction portion of the night with a little sprinkler action to warm up everyone's bidding arm! 7 packages were auctioned off, with packages ranging from A summer house in North Carolina (where the Wright Brothers learned to fly of course) to a Reds Game Suite package (fully stocked), to football tickets for THE Ohio State University, and our personal favorite Greg Mancz Fernside Cleats!

This year's Live Auction raised a total of $18,500

One of the most special moments Friday night was when TriHealth Senior VP Jason Niehaus, on behalf of TriHealth, placed the winning bid on the the Fernside Cleats donated by Greg Mancz so that they could be given back to Fernside.

In Jason's words, TriHealth wanted the cleats to go "where they belong" so that all future Fernside kids can see them and be as inspired by Greg's journey as we all are.

Special thanks to our Pit Crew (Fernside Alumni) members who volunteered their time to help at Friday night's dinner! They delivered lanterns to each table during the lantern live auction.

This year the goal for the lantern live auction was $20,000...

which was quickly surpassed! Because of you, we raised a total of $30,790 for the lantern live auction!

over 275 guests took a moment of silence in REMEMBRANCE of all the loved ones lost and grieving children in our community.
Thank you to all of our guests and sponsors!

Monday's forecast called for a beautiful day of golf with nearly 200 of our Fernside supporters!

Monday kicked off with lunch generously donated by Honey Baked Ham and Skyline!

Success at Shaker Run!

This year we moved our golf outing to a new course, Shaker Run Golf Club.

“The Fernside Classic golf outing took place at a new venue this year, Shaker Run Golf Club. The Club staff did an excellent job organizing all of the related activities. The course was enjoyed by all participating golfers.” -Dave Wilson, Fernside Classic Committee Member

We capped off the afternoon with dinner generously donated by Maggianos and our awards presentation for first and second place on each course, along with longest drive and closest to the pin.
