Viña Solareiga

A TOUCH OF HISTORY

During the colonial period, landlords were awarded with full ownership of rustic properties designated as “Solariegas”, which granted the property a status of “Antique and Noble”.

Back then the land was devoted to extensive agricultural labors and its main construction revolved around multiple activities including housing, farming and animal husbandry.

Hacienda La Solariega was devoted to be “Legacy of land and fields of labor to work on in order to bare fruits”. Today this noble and rich heritage continues to thrive honoring its ancestry.

WHEN TRADITION MEETS MODERNITY

It was not until 2010 when La Solariega was reborn with an extensive gardening and landscaping project. Once the greenery was back and fully alive, a program entailing the recovery and restoration of the property completed the first stage. Six years later the Hacienda celebrated a successful debut with the first private event.

By 2019 the second stage was completed as we launched La Solariega into the future with the addition of a brand new modern kitchen and a massive minimalist facility suited for all-purpose events. But our pride and joy is 10 acres of recently planted vines aimed at the production of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir varietals.

WE LOVE TO LIVE GREEN

The place speaks for itself. The design of our natural habitats not only embraces you with peace and wellness but it generates a positive long- term impact on our ecosystem. So far we have planted more than 5,000 trees and a wide range of plants that will stand proud and strong for generations to come. Our aim is to continue this effort until we reach 10,000 trees by 2030.

As guardians of this blessed place, we are well aware of the relevance and purpose of our endeavor so we like to share a few important facts:

Our beloved trees absorb CO2 from the atmosphere to produce oxygen and then purify the air we all breathe. They nurture fertile ground, avoiding erosion and capture water recharging floodplain aquifers. Also they provide a nice and fresh temperature by humidifying the atmosphere. The soil regenerates and fosters the settlement of diverse species, transforming the territory into a refuge for wildlife species that enhance the beauty of the environment.

A healthy mature tree is capable of producing enough oxygen for 10 people every year while absorbing 21k of CO2. Trees provide wonderful shade and lighting, reduce exposure from UVB by 50% and their huge and healthy branches shut off urban noise. No wonder why they have been acknowledged as key to our mental health and wellbeing! Last but not least, trees increase property value by 20%.

HUIMILPAN

MUNICIPALITY OF QUERÉTARO

WHERE HACIENDA LA SOLARIEGA IS LOCATED

Huimilpan derives from the Nahuátl language and it means Place of the Great Cornfields.

Huimilpan was conquered on 1529 by the Captain Don Nicolás de San Luis Montañes, descendant of the Spanish rulers of Tula and Xilotepec. Since then the Order of Franciscanos Missionaries undertook the tutoring of the town from their convent at the little town of Corregidora as it states in the Book of Indians dated on 1716 and found in the parochial church of this municipal capital.

During the colonial period, ten haciendas settled throughout the territory becoming the engine that thrusted the economy: Los Cués, Santa Teresa, Lagunillas, Ceja de Bravo, El Vegil, Apapátaro, La Noria, Carranza, El Milagro plus one that belonged to the natives of Huimilpan.

QUERÉTARO

A remarkable place in history

Perhaps the strength of this prosperous state capital comes from the Purépecha tongue “Crettaro”, meaning “Place of Big Rocks”.

Founded in 1531, the state capital has been considered Cultural Heritage of Humanity for its priceless colonial architectural wealth.

Founded in 1531, the state capital has been considered Cultural Heritage of Humanity for its priceless colonial architectural wealth.

Prior to the conquest, around 1446, Crettaro was inhabited by the Otomí and Purépecha people and a small tribe of nomads called Chichimecas. Such cultures can be witnessed at archaeological sites such as El Cerrito in Corregidora or Las Ranas and Toluqilla in the Sierra Gorda.

Querétaro ́s splendor grew as commercial activities such as livestock farming, agricultural and textiles boosted economic bonanza redefining its urban profile with architectural wonders like the Plaza de Armas square, Corregidora Palace, the Aqueduct and the temples o San Antonio and Congregación among many others.

In 1810, Querétaro became headquarter of the conspiracy that led to the Independence of México.

CURRENT QUERÉTARO

The certainty of a vigorous future

Due to the fact that a large list of companies from the industrial, commercial and services sectors established their business along the territory, Querétaro has developed outstanding economical growth dynamics since 1994.

Then by 2000 the state ventured into the manufacturing sector and five years later a quantum leap was made with the incursion of the aerospace development industry in which we now occupy 4th place worldwide.

It is well known for its well-preserved Spanish colonial architecture, with a striking pink stone aqueduct. The arcade is 1,280 m long, 23 m high and 1.5 m wide. From east to west 74 arches run and one was added in the late 19th century. The aqueduct transported water for two centuries.

Notable baroque buildings include the Santa Rosa de Viterbo church. Nearby is the ocher-colored Temple of Saint Francis, in the Zenea Garden, the main square of the city. In the old convent of the church, the Querétaro Regional Museum exhibits pre-Hispanic, colonial and republican artifacts.

Querétaro has 4 sites declared World Cultural Heritage by Unesco, 4 Archaeological Zones and a Biosphere Reserve that invite adventure.
