Skill Builder: Digital Video Class 2 Learning Journal

This class 2 was a bit more of a challenge as I learned how to add titles and transitions to video. It was difficult for me to locate the Title panel and then unlock it, figure out how to style and choose the font etc. but once I figured it out, I wondered why I had any trouble as it seems so intuitive now! So the first few times were difficult but once I caught on, a breeze. Once I understood I needed to save my file before placing my Title clip, things fell into place.

The transitions were easy to place although I did run into some difficult with being blocked from applying certain transitions. By zooming in on my timeline, it was easier to see and understand the placement of the transitions. I used Cross dissolve, Slide, and Dip to Black.

I enjoyed bringing in some of my own video clips to round out this project and personalize it. I brought in video of art I had seen in NYC, Sacramento!, and then ended with an ocean video clip from California. I also added a street scene of NYC 5th avenue from my phone.

I have loved every minute of this class so far and have so many ideas now of preparing video for my courses. I see this as just a beginning!
