Jedi News MArch Week 1

Hey Jedi and Padawan and all of Kidspoint team, not sure what to say now, so I'll use the Governator's words :)

This will be a short weekly!

Thanks to all who have prayed for me and my family last week after my father's death. I am doing good, just tired of the 4500 miles I have driven in the last 2 weeks! A couple of good night sleep and I'll be great.

I want you to remember something concerning prayer and I'll use my present situation to illustrate that.

Never stop praying. 1 Thessalonians 4:17
Let us not become tired of doing good. At the right time we will gather a crop if we don't give up. Galatians 6:9

I had been praying for my dad for 38 short years. In January of this year, during our 21 days of fasting and prayer, in a phone conversation with my dad, he told me he had made his peace with God and was now "ready to go on the other side".

Never stop praying. Period. God works, the Spirit moves. And believe in the power of prayer.

I saw my dad, living, for th last time on February 11. Chantal and I had a great time with him. Joking around, laughing, talking about life. He was curious about our new life in Virginia, church, my daughters, my wife, me. All this to say, I'm doing fine because the end of my father's life ended well.

The Freedom Of Forgiveness

By making the choice to forgive, praying for our offenders, and giving forgiveness as we have received it from God, we can transform every relationship in our lives, including how we relate to ourselves.

Your growth depends on how deep you commit to growing! So dig deeper.

Specifics in environments

My desire, and the church's also, is that everybody be a healthy leader in your ministry.

In order to better assess where and how many "real" volunteers we have, i will ask each environment to fill out a new document on Sundays.

It's basically a "roster" document. Teammates (you included!), just need to write their names down and check how many services they ministered. Simple. Efficient.

FIRST TIME FAMILIES

When you have a first time kid in your environment, you should...

  • Welcome them specifically
  • If in DIVE, give the parents a Lifepoint Sippy cup
  • If in TREK or QUEST, give the child a bouncy ball
  • Invite them to come back and the kid will get a t-shirt!
  • Tell parents something great about their kid
  • New theme this month : FIX IT UP !!!!
  • SMALL GROUP: Small group is a great time for you to connect with our bunch. Take that time to do just that: connect!
  • Make sure you take time to pray with them
  • Introduce the lesson and theme of the day when you start of the small group before worship

QUEST K-1

  • EVERYONE, TELL A PARENT SOMETHING GREAT ABOUT THEIR CHILD

QUEST 2-3

  • Fill out you attendance sheets, they are not optional!
  • EVERYONE, TELL A PARENT SOMETHING GREAT ABOUT THEIR CHILD

QUEST 4-5

  • As a reminder, challenge our kids to keep pushing themselves during the week by using YouVersion
  • TELL PARENTS ABOUT THE YOUVERSION PLAN and MAKE SURE THE KIDS GET THE INFO
  • Give out the forms to the kids EVERY WEEK! They look like this.
  • NEW theme : Build it!
  • Fill out you attendance sheets, they are not optional!
  • Keep on loving these babies.
  • Snacks are now put in every room instead of being centrally stacked
  • Try to memorize some parents' names this week
  • EVERYONE, TELL A PARENT SOMETHING GREAT ABOUT THEIR CHILD

DAILY DEVOTIONAL

There are so many devotionals out there. Here are a few.

The things you have heard me say, entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.

A little reminder of some goals that have not changed !!

  1. Become 3 deep in all of our leadership positions by June 30th
  2. Recruit 30 NEW volunteers by March 31st . We're close to that right now!
  3. Every week, show 1 person something they should be doing in your place!
  4. Talk to 1 parent per service, every week. Many will join the team!

Jedi, you are ready for some MOMENTUM
