The over all message being shared is that there is a need for peace in the world and we should try to eliminate the factors keeping us from it.

The song reflects to the time period in talking about the war and foreign policy. The message of the song is to have a world of peace free from war (the Vietnam war was taking place at the time). It reflects how many people at home felt about the war and wanting it to end.

Imagine by John Lennon

- Imagine there's no heaven

It's easy if you try

No hell below us

Above us only sky

Imagine all the people

Living for today... Aha-ah...

Imagine there's no countries

It isn't hard to do

Nothing to kill or die for

And no religion, too

Imagine all the people

Living life in peace... You...

You may say I'm a dreamer

But I'm not the only one

I hope someday you'll join us

And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions

I wonder if you can

No need for greed or hunger

A brotherhood of man

Imagine all the people

Sharing all the world... You...

You may say I'm a dreamer

But I'm not the only one

I hope someday you'll join us

And the world will live as one
