UA Tech Crawl Thursday, September 28 from 4:00-6:00PM

About the Event

Prior to the conversations on the future of online learning at OLC Collaborate, The University of Arizona will be holding its very first Tech Crawl showcasing effective practices and innovations to support digital learning in the online, hybrid and face-to-face classroom.

The Tech Crawl, consisting of a series of casual, hands-on demos, will be held at designated locations around the center of main campus. Participants can join in on a new demo starting every 30 minutes, with ample time to explore, play, and walk to the next location. The Tech Crawl is FREE and open to all OLC Collaborate guests. Maps will be distributed to registered participants before the event, as well as additional details about the Tech Crawl and related events.

Getting Around the Tech Crawl

Each location on the UA Tech Crawl will include the opportunity for you to learn a new effective practice or pedagogical innovation in a very short period of time. At each stop, you will:

  • Receive an introduction to a new tool or practice
  • Explore and/or play
  • Have any questions answered as to how you might incorporate the tool or practice into your teaching and learning

Demos will begin every 30 minutes, with time built in for you to meander to each location. You'll receive a map with different locations highlighted, as well as a punch card to mark off the places you've stopped. Prizes will be given out throughout the event, so make sure to engage with as many stops as possible!

We are currently in the process of finalizing the locations where participants will be able to attend the hands-on demos. With the generous help of members of the UA University Libraries, UITS, Office of Digital Learning and UA South, as well as Pima Community College, we will have demos on the following topics:

  • Adobe Spark
  • Virtual and Augmented Reality
  • Kahoot!
  • Makerspaces
  • Slack
  • Video Production and Green Screens
  • Playposit
  • OneNote for Classrooms
  • ...and more!
