The piece is a surrealist photo of the Wave Gallery. In the mural, I photoshopped the floor of the gallery onto the ceiling, making it appear that the floor and ceiling are identical it also appears as if a man is walking on the ceiling. The TS Eliot quote my piece takes inspiration from is “In order to arrive at what you are not, you must go through the way in which you are not.” The quote gave me the idea of someone moving in an unconventional way. That thought brought me to walking on the ceiling. I chose to use the Wave Gallery because of the pillars that extended up and make for an interesting visual connection between the floor and ceiling. I put a man walking on the ceiling because he showcases the idea of moving unconventionally. A design problem I faced was smoothly connecting the texture of the walls and the polls. I learned about the band aid tool and I used that to correct the image. In the future, I will be able to smooth out rough textures on images in Photoshop by using this skill.
