Ice Cream Givers Fiona, Grecia, and Daisy

If we change the brand of the ice cream, how will it affect the time it takes to melt?

Some of the brands that we were used Tillamook, Dryers, Umpqua, and Ben and Jerry's.

We used a stopwatch to time how long it took for the ice cream to melt.

Our Independent Variable was the brand of the cookie dough ice cream. our dependent variable was the time it takes to melt.

  1. Place one brand of ice cream into a plastic container, about 1 scoop.
  2. Start the stop watch
  3. When the ice cream is melted, stop the stop watch.
  4. Check the time, and list it on a data sheet
  5. Repeat steps 1-4 again, but with a different brand of ice cream
before...
after...

Dreyers took 1 hour 2 minutes

Umpqua took 1 hour43 minutes

Tillamook took 1 hour 50 minutes

Ben and Jerrys took over 2 hours!

In conclusion, the best ice cream brand is the one that took the least amount of time: DREYERS! Our hypothesis was wrong.
