THE CDC WAS ESTABLISHED JULY 1, 1946 IN ATLANTA, GEORGIA. THE CDC SOUGHT OUT TO MANAGE COMMUNICABLE DISEASES AS WELL AS DOING FIELD INVESTIGATION AND TRAINING.

"CDC works with states and other partners to provide a system of health surveillance to monitor and prevent disease outbreaks (including bioterrorism), implement disease prevention strategies, and maintain national health statistics. THE ACTING DIRECTOR OF THE CDC IS ANNE SCHUCHAT, MD. SHE BECAME THE DIRECTOR IN JANUARY 2017.

THE CDC ADDRESSES MARKET FAILURES BY PROVIDING RESEARCH OF DISEASES, VACCINATIONS AND OTHER MEDICAL NEEDS THAT THE MARKET WOULDN'T SUPPLY ITSELF.

The CDC is currently working on control and awareness of the Zika virus outbreak that has occurred in many countries.
