Sabrina Fookson Drawing/ Painting 1

This is my pre assessment rough draft for my self portrait. I do not like it, it's unrealistic and flat. The mouth is too high up, eyes too far apart, eyebrows and hair unrealistic, and the shape of the face is not mine. However, I greatly improved with my final draft. The nose is better, so is the mouth, the hair, and the shape of the face. It still does not look like me, but it is a huge improvement. I still need to work on shadowing and highlighting. I'm surprised by how well the hair turned out! I'm proud that I was able to create something that resembles a human face, and I now have these portrait drawing skills to help me for the rest of my life!

I think that as an artist, I grew with being able to use different mediums together. I'm still struggling with contour drawings, but I have improved a lot. I would have liked to spend more time on acrylics, maybe even explore oil paints. .

Hallway Drawing

The hallway drawings were extremely tedious and difficult, but the end product came out looking good. I wish we spent more time on shading, because I need to learn how to shade well.

Contour Drawing

This was not a difficult project, I enjoyed using the watercolors. I like how it came out (I painted a tea pot and flowers). I still need to work on my understanding of contour drawings.
