We encourage students to bring in their own. We have a limited supply of loaners. Please reference the schedule above. Please be sure to avoid appointments during these times.

Troybery 2019 Author Visit

Why Skype a Troybery author when you can meet them in person? This week our Baker Family had the AMAZING opportunity of having Troybery 2109 author, Ben Guterson the author of the TB 2019 Top Ten mystery Winterhouse, visit Baker, Thursday, May 2nd. He was in town visiting family and offered to come and spend time with our students!

He engaged in a 45-minute presentation discussing his inspiration for writing, some of his favorite middle school books, and word puzzles. This was a great experience for our students. They just finished a mystery book club and are very familiar with his genre. We appreciate him taking time out of his busy schedule to speak with our students. Thank you Mrs. Loch and Mrs. Adelman (Berlin) for organizing this event!

Teacher Appreciation Week

Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week. We started the festivities a little early. On Friday, each of our teachers received a special delivery from Nothing Bundt Cake. It was a sweet treat in appreciation for all of the things that they do for our students. Next week don't forget to let them know how much they are appreciated!

ALL IN Celebration

Are you ALL IN? This is a question that we can ask to our teachers and students. It applies to the dedication that our teachers have to student success and it literally applies to the student's completion of their assignments. ALL IN is a reinforcement program designed to motivate students. The program was started by Mrs. Kemp and Mrs. Becker two of our 7th grade teachers. They are truly Game Changers! Since starting the program, it has grown to include several teachers impacting more of our students.

The ALL IN program has proven to be crucial in helping our students set goals and attain academic success by influencing their motivation with extrinsic forces that over time become intrinsic forces through achieving continued success and having fun! This week we had several students motivated to be a part of the ALL IN celebration. Students played ping pong, board games, lego building, Perler Beads, Ozobots and Tech Exploration. We appreciate Oakland Schools & TFEE for providing resources to make this a success!

We are interested in inviting our Baker Family parents to participate in the May 31st celebration! If you are interested, please click on the following link.
