MISSION SHARING THE HOPE WE HAVE

At BCBCS we don't just celebrate the gift of life God has given us in Jesus, we understand that we have a gift to offer others - the gift we offer is the Good News of life in Jesus, for all.

We believe that worship is something we live out in the whole of our lives, whether in church, at work, at school, or play. When the worship of God is central to our lives we believe our lives will be attractive to others, a witness to the power of God, the hope in Jesus we all have.

We also believe in active participation in God's mission to the world. We have a Great Commission to reach all the world with Gospel. We also have a passion for justice. We believe that people can be released from bondage - whatever form that might take, whether physical or spiritual. We believe people can be healed from pain - both physical and emotional. We believe sinners can be redeemed, the lost found, the broken made whole.

Sometimes there's stuff we just can't do much about in immediate terms, a whole world in need of hope and healing. BCBC gives a significant portion of its income to supporting other Christian organisations around the world, and sometimes right on our doorstep.

BCBC financially supports and provides a Trustee for Ladywood Youth For Christ Sports Ministry. This ministry which is very local to us connects with young people through football, and brings positive role models, and messages to shape those young lives in good ways.

This ministry is a partnership between BCBC, St John's and St Peter's Ladywood, Church Alive, and community volunteers.

BCBC is one of the founding churches for the Birmingham Churches Winter Night Shelter. Every year BCBC and 13 other Birmingham churches open their doors to some of the most vulnerable men on our streets. Providing 12 bed spaces, a hot evening meal, breakfast, and a packed lunch takes away the hardship of bitterly cold winter nights for some of the city's rough sleepers. Alongside this we provide compassion, conversation, entertainment, signposting, and a lot of pastoral care. You can find out more about the Night Shelters by visiting their site https://www.bhamchurchesnightshelter.org.uk/
