Cultural and Intellectual Experience

This play is mainly a story about Sarah Bernhardt. The performance began with two young men's meet. Michaud who is an enthusiastic fan of Sarah, wants to stop Sarah's play. Then he wants to write his friend — Talbot's story as a script. Although he gave up halfway, he was again inspired by Sarah and decided to finish the script.

Before this performance, I know a little about the abuse in factories at Sarah's time, I thought that workers at that time was bad treated in wage; however, this play showed me a lot of details about that. At that time, factories are just crucial machines based on poor workers' bodies and blood since it is real dangerous to work in those factories. Many adults and children died in the manufacture. And, in this performance, I was aware that Sarah is a humane person with mercy; she is graceful to those people who served her. Sarah also attended to interpret the idea of poor people in her acting process. This play deeply touched my heart, I tried to focus those hardworking people to serve me but do not get enough money they should earn, I tried to know what their life is and attend to help them.
