Write down the rules we created as a classroom from the board. This is something we will return to. In the meantime, pick the rule you find most important and explain why that rule, above all others is most important.

the number one rule I think that make the most sense is clean up after yourself because if you leave food a animal could come after you to find where that food came from. also so that it don't attract bugs and ants so you don't have to make a new shelter.and if you do your business clean up so no flies are attracted.

The rules we made as a class were in 2 2. don't go out at night 3. share resources 4.clean up after yourself 5. communicate effectively your job 7 DO NOT KILL EACH OTHER

Theme of this story is stranded to me because they are there and cant do nothing about it.

Foreshadowing is seen on page 105 when they talk in depth about the pink table shaped rock cause it may mean something important

Some symbolism in the book is of course the conch it symbolizes the authority to speak while no one else does.

There is not a beast because it is all in there head.think about it your stranded on an island and you fear the unknown but the whole island has been explored by jack and ralph .Also because they have been there for a while and there thinking is probably not as rational

Name at least two things the boys are doing or have given up that show how they are now operating on instinct and no longer trying to follow the rules of society. Explain your answers with information from the text.

well some of the boys have given up that they will be rescued. they are not listening to Ralph, they are fighting, some are leaving and going places alone and those were some of the rules.

Two rituals people are most familiar with are weddings and funerals. Pick an event (a wedding or a funeral). Make a list of at least 3 phrases people use at the event you picked. Using one of your phrases, explain why your phrase is helpful in the situation

wedding: for better or for worse

in sickness and in health

till death do us part

The phrase for better or for worse is known in weddings cause it means you will be with your spouse through the good and the bad. This also means that you love them that much. This phrase is also a commitment to your spouse that you will be with them in the good and bad times.the reason this is helpful is because this is what the preacher says in the wedding vows.this phrase has meaning because of that and is one of the parts where the wife and husband say I do.

The effect of seeing the beast made jack make his own tribe and become a hunter of the beast.Jack also offered a sacrafice to the beast. It has also put a fear in him and everyone else.Jack has changed from it and has his tribe paint there faces to remain anonymous. He has also became more like someone in the wild than he ever has before.Jack wanted to be a chief but Ralph was so he took some that wanted to be with him .

Well what just happened to Simon was he had been alone in his quiet place.Simon has been also looking around and fount the dead parachutist. The parachutist was what the boys thought the beast was.So Simon was thinking hey ill go tell them whats going on.So as Simon was coming to tell them they were in the middle of there ritual where the pretend to kill the beast. Simon stumbled into the middle of where all of them were chanting and they thought he was the beast. They were all so caught up in the moment they did not realize it was Simon. They all started throwing there spears at him and he was screaming that there was no beast and nobody heard him because of how caught up in the moment everybody was.So they ended up killing Simon and they thought they had finally killed the beast because the tide brought Simon out to sea. Also when they go to look on the mountain they will not see the parachutist cause Simon took the ropes out of the rocks and it flew away cause of the strong wind.

In life people create groups. These groups might be at school, in sports, in extracurricular activities, and through religious organizations. Explain what needs groups fill for people. Explain both the positive and negative aspects of being part of a group. You may relate this to our novel, or you may make it a person reflection of your own experience.a negative of this would be peer pressure so you fit in.A positive is that you feel good cause your part of something you like

The thing that being in a group is that it makes you feel like you belong.they also make you feel like part of something and useful.

“Which is better - to have rules and agree, or to hunt and kill?”

Using this quote, take a stand. Pick a side and explain why your decision is best on this island here at the end of Chapter 11. Don’t forget to use textual evidence to support your answer.

I think it is better to have rules and agree than to hunt and kill because with rules you can do stuff better and everyone works together. With rules you have something to live by instead of just running wild and have no law and order and everybody is going crazy pretty much. With out law and order than you cant stop people from doing bad things cause there is no law.when they are just hunting and not listening to each other they can end up killing everybody.hunting and killing would be later with the rules cause you know who stays and who goes to get food.

Dear student this book was overall awesome and i like it way better when mrs. lyda reads to us cause she puts emotion into reading it.I recomend this book cause it is a great book i cant really say more

"it cant get any worse"

The reason for this quote and the arrows is the arrows mean opposite of that cause piggy said it cant get any worse and he ended up dead.and it was just a killing fest.Ralph tried to live by the rules and he survived.I think if everyone lived by the rules there would have been no deaths cause it was law and order. This means they would not fight over Piggy's glasses or the fire and would have shared it.They would not have fought over being rescued and hunting cause they would pick a group of people to work on hunting and another group of people who would work on the fire and being rescued. There would have been a better chance of being rescued and they would have not died or been starving.Piggy would have been able to see and would have his glasses and have more fires if they needed. The arrows mean opposite and that is what happened cause jack thought that people would better survive with his way but he was wrong more people died this way and he did not get rescued. The quote well i think goes right along with the picture cause that quote was foreshadowing. In which basically means is its gonna be the exact opposite of what they say.
