What to expect at Bridgeway

Planning a visit to Bridgeway? First off, we would be honored to have you as our guests. Here is a list of the most frequently asked questions we get here at Bridgeway.

1. What do I wear?

This is one of the most asked questions. The answer? Whatever you want. Are you a t-shirt and jeans kinda guy/gal? Then wear it. Like to dress in your Sunday best? Absolutely. The term "come as you are" is overused in church lingo, but really applies to this question. Wear what you feel comfortable in.

2. What kind of worship style do you have?

We have a full worship band and play contemporary worship music. At Bridgeway we feel and believe that a blend of the "new" and "old" benefits the church as a whole. Modern contemporary music is great and we love playing these songs and worshiping to them, but we also feel that the great hymns of our faith need to be used in worship as well. Most of our renditions of these great hymns have a fresh and modern touch that blends well with the contemporary feel to our music. We sing all the contemporary worship from today's great worship bands.

3. Are there any programs for my kids?

Bridgeway is bustling with kids! We love kids of all ages and have a place to plug them in no matter what the age. During the first and second service, we have our Children's Church programing where your kids ages 2 through 5th grade will be in a class with their age group. They will be immersed in a biblical based lesson using puppet shows, teachers, and other various educational tools. During our Sunday school hour, we have an AWANA program where kids age 2 through 6th grade play games, do crafts, enjoy a bible lesson, and start memorizing scripture together. For babies up to 2 years old, we have a nursery with a friendly staff to watch over them. Older kids in Middle and High school have a Sunday school class as well as a monthly gathering and lots of events. No matter the age, we have a way for them to get involved, so check them in using our secure child check in system, send them off for a fun time, and sit back and enjoy your time in service!

4. Do you guys have Small Groups?

We do! We have a Sunday school time on Sunday mornings at 10:15am in between our first and second services. We offer a 40+ class, a 25-39 class, a young adults class, a high school class, a middle school class, and kids programing. We also have small group classes throughout the year that meet in the student center. These are typically short 6-8 week topical classes that meet on a week night. Message us for more information.

5. Do I have to give to the offering if I visit?

You are by no means expected to give to the offering. The Bible teaches us that Biblical Giving is an important aspect to our faith (whether that is money, time, talents, etc.), but this is nothing that is expected of a guest. As most of our congregation gives online anymore, we ditched the awkward passing of the collection plate and installed offering boxes near the exits that people may give to should they wish.

6. I see your church in the community all the time. Why?

We are a missional church. God has called us to share the wonderful news of the Gospel. While we do have many visitors come through our doors, we feel a better way is to take our message to the community. We care for Amelia deeply. Not only Amelia, but Cincinnati, and the world. Bridgeway is involved in Amelia in many ways helping where there is need and actively involved in community events. We are involved in Cincinnati in a number of ways as well including volunteering at A Child's Hope International where we are able to help children all over the world. Finally, we are involved around the world partnering with missionary organizations and with Missionaries directly. We are also involved with Merciful Hearts Orphanage in Kitale, Kenya. We have started a sponsorship program for the near 40 kids. Our plans in 2018 include taking this sponsorship program to a national spotlight. It is easier for us to share the good news of Jesus Christ when we are in the community living out the gospel in a practical way.

7. Are the people friendly at Bridgeway?

Our folks are some of the friendliest around. That may sound like a pastor bragging on his people, but it is 100% true. Bridgeway is not a cold and dying church. It is a warm and friendly church where you will be greeted with smiles and handshakes. If you don't believe me, you are just going to have to try us out!

We hope this answers any questions you may have before visiting Bridgeway. We are excited to meet you! If you have any more questions, please feel free to contact us via our website or facebook. God is doing some incredible things at Bridgeway. Come and be a part of what is going on here. God will change your life! God bless, hope to see you soon.
