ABOUT THE CAST

Gabriel Kull (Oedipus) is a senior at UTEP. This is his last show here at UTEP. Beckers, Kim, Jay, and Greg, thank you for mentoring me and making me into the actor I am today. I owe it all to you guys. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Deanna, thank you for giving me one of the greatest experiences and challenges of my short career. To all of the staff and faculty: thank you for putting up with me for these last four years. To all of my friends and family, I love you. Thank you for sticking by me. I hope to make you all proud. Eddie Noriega (Laius) is a senior graduating in May with a B.A. in theatre arts performance and a minor in history. This is his second performance in the Wise Family Theater. He would like to thank Deana for the opportunity to be in this production.
Daniel Adame (Coro #3/Tecolote #3/ El Mistico) is performing on the Wise Theater stage for the first time and is excited to be part of this production! He is majoring in mechanical engineering at UTEP in his junior year and loves to perform.
Ana Karen Miramontes (Esfinge #1/Coro) is a UTEP student double majoring in theatre performance and media advertising. Favorite roles include the title role in Lydia, Carlyle from Stonewater Rapture, and Viola from Twelfth Night. Ana became an Equity Membership Candidate (EMC) this past summer after being cast in the main stage production Titus Andronicus at The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey. She was also the recipient of the 2018 KCACTF National Award for Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Play for her performance as Lydia. Ana has been accepted at The University of Arkansas Acting Master's Program that she will be attending in the Fall semester. She is thankful for the love and support of her parents.
Andrea Taman (Esfinge #3/Coro) is a junior studying for a B.F.A. in theatre performance at UTEP. Overall, she has had an amazing experience collaborating with guest director, Deanna Downes, and the creative team for Oedipus El Rey. Andrea can also be seen in the upcoming UTEP student lead production of God of Carnage.

Bianca Taylor (Jocasta) is a B.F.A. theatre performance major at the University of Texas at El Paso. She is beyond thrilled to be performing in this show with such an outstanding cast! Everyone has devoted so much time and creative energy to this production and she can’t wait to share with the audience this complex story. “I hope everyone gets pulled into the magic!”

Tony Romero (Teresias/El Huesero) is performing for the 3rd time the Wise Theater and is so grateful to have been given a chance to work with such an awesome cast and crew. Cheers!

Lauren Wagner (Esfinge #2/Coro) is a graduating senior about to earn her B.F.A. in theatre performance. She would like to give a huge thank you to Deanna for the opportunity to work with this talented cast and crew, and her parents for their continuous support.

ABOUT THE PRODUCTION TEAM

T’keyah Roberts (Assistant Stage Manager) is working in the Wise Family Theatre for the fourth time. Previously she was Assistant Stage Manager for A Christmas Carol En La Frontera, Deck Chief for The Importance of Being Earnest and Assistant Stage Manager for Iconic Pop. She is currently a Sophomore pursuing a BFA in theatre with a concentration in Stage Management. She has loved working on this show and hopes that you enjoy it as well!

Nicole Bianco (Set Designer) is an El Paso based designer working as a Visiting Professor in Set Design and Technical Director for the UTEP 2018-2019 season. She earned her MFA from the University of Florida in Set and Projection Design. Since obtaining that MFA she has spent time working as a designer along the east coast and recently settled in El Paso, TX. She is incredibly proud to bring this story to life with the countless talented students. Recent design credits include: Humans (Projection Design, UTEP), Christmas Carol en la Frontera (Set Design, UTEP), The 39 Steps (Set Design, Footlight Players), The Giver (Set/Projection Design, CSC), and Spill (Projection Design, UF).

Hideaki Tsutsui (Lighting Designer) is a designer who's work has been seen from NYC to West End in London. Hideaki has designed for numerous artists and productions such as: Lantern Floating for Peace at the Lincoln Center, Garth Fagan’s Thanks 40 at the Joyce Theatre, Osvaldo Golijov's La Pasión Según San Marcos national tour, Moscow Circus USA Tour, Sweeney Todd at Madison Opera and Gravity Radio at Brooklyn Academy of Music. He served as the lighting designer for long time collaborator Mikel Rouse’s acclaimed production, The Demo at the Krannert Center and at Stanford. Hideaki was also invited to light 20th Anniversary Dance Gala for Virginia Arts Festival such dance companies include American Ballet Theatre, Mark Morris Dance Group, Birmingham Royal Ballet, Richmond Ballet, Tokyo Ballet and many others. He also worked as lighting designer and technical director for Nai Ni Chen Dance Company. Before joining the University of Texas at El Paso, Hideaki was the Lighting Designer and VP of Operations for Eggshell Light Company in Hawaii, where he designed over 100 corporate events, concerts, and television shows. He served as the lighting designer for live events such as; Kevin Hart Live, Cindy Lauper, IBM, Herbalife, New York Life, Intuit, PBS Hawaii and General Motors. Hideaki has been the lighting designer for the Lantern Floating Hawaii, which attracts over 50,000 spectators each year and broadcasted worldwide. He also lit 2018 NCAA Final Four promotional shoot for Turner Studios and currently working on 2019 NCAA Final Four promotional shoot for CBS Sports. His design for The End of Cinematics was showcased at 2007 Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space. He is a member of the United Scenic Artists/IATSE – Local 829.
