Mr.Berseth teaches mostly Marketing Classess. "I have principals of marketing that’s available for 9th through 12th graders and then I have an upper level of marketing class which they have a PLE componet which means Professional Learning Expirence which they run Butchers Corner. Every time they work, they get dollar credits in the store or towards their DECA expenses" Berseth said. DECA is a competitive marketing club. In this club they go to competitions locally. "We are going to Manhattan Kansas March 3rd, 4th, and 5th and hopefully to international crew devolpment confrence which is in Orlando, Florida this is at the end of April and beginning of May,” Berseth said.

Students on Market Day

Youth Enterprenuers is a one year class. In this class, students are taught how to run their own buisness. Each year, the YE classes host "Market Day".” Students have the opportunity to sell food, drinks, desserts, or whatever they chose to sell. Food is the most common item sold. This semester’s market day is March 21st and sometime in April. Tate Miller took Youth Enterpreneurs with Mr.Silverthorne. "YE has given me a lot of opportunity,” Miller said. “I took it more as a fun class for Market Day cause I saw kids selling food and stuff for profit so I thought it would be cool if I could do that. YE has opened a lot of doors and got me a lot of scholarships, Miller said. Miller did enjoy taking YE and she believes its a good way to meet new people even though its not required class.

Butler Community College
Cowley College

Some of these classes you can get college credit. "If you take Market Applications Butler and Cowley you can use that same concurrent credit for credits there. In my class we do a lot of real world projects so its hands on and not just theories and I think kids enjoy that more" Berseth said. Antonio Cordero took YEK. "In this class you basically learn to promote your own buisness and how to prepare yourself just in case you want to start your own buisness". Says Cordero. "I did enjoy the class because I prepares you for life,” Cordero said.
