teachers' seminar 2017 - brasília
CREATIVITY: DESTABILISING THE CLASSROOM WITH A LANGUAGE PURPOSE IN MIND
The aim of this session is to give teachers the opportunity to experiment with language creativity from two complementary points of view: (a) discussing a topic from multiple perspectives (b) searching for novel solutions while faced with a number of language constraints. The session is eminently interactive and hands-on.
CRAFTING MEMORIES: EXPERIENCING LEARNING FROM CHILDREN’S PERCEPTION
This session aims at making the most of our young learners’ materials by allowing hands on experience through simple but essential crafting activities with eyes on playful, meaningful and memorable learning. Teachers should leave the session with a concrete input of how the 4Cs are already an intrinsic layer of our teaching practice.
SEE THE WORLD, HEAR THE WORLD (AND SPEAK WITH THE WORLD) - AROUND THE GLOBE IN 4 CS
If teleportation were a real thing, where would you go now? Who would you talk to and what about? What aspects of other cultures would you like to discover? How would you prepare for any problems along the way? This session will provide answers to these questions and more.
COLLABORACTION: 2WARDS LEARNING AND CHANGE IN THE GLOBAL SOCIETY
This session focuses on the development of Collaboration as a valuable 21st century skill through which teen students can achieve relevant individual language learning outcomes while working within groups, as well as contribute to the accomplishments of the groups themselves.
INTEGRATING THE 4C’S THROUGH STORYTELLING
Storytelling and sharing stories is how we communicate to others who we are and what we believe. When we look at our classroom interactions, this phenomenon repeats itself over and over again. In this session, we will also analyse how storytelling and the four C’s are intrinsically associated.
