Mary Burke Swell Time

Irish Artist Mary Burke is up next for the Performance+Art series with an exhibition of watercolors and oils inspired by the coasts of Ireland and Maine. Fiddler Matt Burke and his buddy Rich Dodson, fiddle, guitar and banjo, will close out the last hour of the evening with some stellar duets.

Mary Ryan Burke is an Irish-born artist. Originally from County Cork on Ireland's southern coast, she studied at the Crawford school of Art in Cork City. She painted for many years in oils and acrylic, but recently has turned to watercolors, many with a maritime flavor. Her husband Matt Burke is an admired Irish fiddler and composer and will be playing music during the reception.

To list a First Friday event, email us at lebanonartwalk@gmail.com Include: address and phone number of the venue, the name of the artist or musician, and a short description of the artwork or style of music being offered.

LVCA and the Lebanon Community Library plan to create a local artist exhibit space at the Lebanon Community Library. Our organizations welcome any individual or business sponsorship to complete this project. Sponsors will be acknowledged at the exhibit. Costs for the project involve purchasing and installing a gallery hanging system. Please email lebanonartscouncil@gmail.com for more information and to support this community project.

The Kiwanis Club of Lebanon and their Community Grant Program recently awarded TLVC with a $1500 grant to support teaching Lebanon young people about mosaic and mural skills and to support similar programs for young people.

The TLVC was supported, in part, by the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency, through the Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts (PPA), its regional arts funding Partnership. State government funding comes through an annual appropriation by Pennsylvania’s General Assembly and from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency. PPA is administered in this region by The Foundation for Enhancing Communities (TFEC). The 2021-2022 award will be for $3,000.

LVCA’s historic building, first established in the early 1800’s, is in need of some major roof repairs. After reviewing bids from local contractors, LVCA plans to move ahead with the roof repairs in the near future. Your continued support is especially appreciated as we take on this additional expense for needed maintenance and upkeep.
