EI Advisory at 10 10 events celebrating 10 years

EI has always been a fun, sociable team, with memorable Christmas and Summer parties a staple of the office calendar, but for our 10th Anniversary year, we decided to out-do ourselves, and hold 10 events to celebrate our 10 years. We all put in suggestions and then we chose a mix of activities, designed not only to celebrate, but also to challenge ourselves, and to give back to the community.

First up was a play starring our very own Lead Consultant, Lydia Imirtziadis. If we ever lose Lydia from the EI team, it will surely be to the theatre, as she is a phenomenal actress as well as a brilliant writer and analyst. The whole team loved seeing her in I Want A Country, directed by Anastasia Revi.

We then pulled on our trainers for the annual Citywire 10K in Regents’ Park. This is now a bit of a fixture in the EI calendar, as we’re a sporty office too, and Tony, Kate, Jack, Victoria S and Mike all took part, and flew a very respectable flag for EI – and the non-runners in the team turned out to cheer everyone on as well.

Next up – literally, the next day in fact – we headed to Bounce in Holborn, a venue we’ve used before for social events. We had a great, relaxed evening of ping-pong and beers.

In August, we headed to Lords for the T20 Middlesex v Hampshire cricket. We were delighted that some of our clients were able to join us on the day, and enjoyed some brilliant cricket, and some very fetching headgear to boot.

Our next fixture (pun intended) was our annual Summer Party. This is always a fantastic day, and this year was no exception.

We picnicked in Regent’s Park, played tennis, badminton, boules, board games and a scavenger hunt, then headed over to Home House for drinks and dinner.

In September, we took part in the Macmillan BakeOff / World’s Largest Coffee Morning event, raising a respectable £78 for charity, and our cholesterol into the bargain.

It's a Bake Off, so what better than a BAKEWELL? :)

In November, we took on the Crystal maze, and won (well, one of the teams from EI beat the other, so that’s a win in our book).

Shortly afterwards, we hosted clients and friends of EI at Claridge’s to celebrate our 10 year anniversary with champagne and canapes – and the fabulous ‘inverted’ Christmas Tree by Karl Lagerfeld.

And as if November wasn’t full enough, we headed to the Tabard Theatre in Turnham Green for another play, this time with Lydia, our Lead Consultant, taking on the role of Production Assistant. The play was Jamaica Inn, and the atmospheric venue and dedicated small cast made the evening very enjoyable.

Last, but very much not least on the agenda was our Christmas Party. Since this is a big year for EI, we started the day not with champagne in the office as we would normally, but by volunteering at Westmead Care Home in West London, decorating the home ready for the festive season and enjoying chatting to the residents over tea and mince pies.

The team (L-R: Peter Ellis, Holly Daniels, Sue Mayers and Jack Culpin) thoroughly enjoyed the morning at Westmead.

One of the most enjoyable parts of the morning was having the opportunity to enjoy tea and mince pies with the residents and having time to talk to them and hear their stories.

The team enjoyed their morning, and wished the residents and staff a very Merry Christmas before heading on to lunch.

After this, we headed to Beach Blanket Babylon for a lovely Christmas lunch to round off EI’s 10 year celebrations, 2017, and our best year to date!
