What is binary?

Binary is a sequence (like a code) which computers use. It is made up of 1s and 0s (on and off) which the computer understands. All data you want a computer to process needs to be converted into binary. Here is an example : 01001011

Why do computers use binary?

Binary devices are Simple and easy to build.

Flawless copies can be made of binary data.

Anything that can be represented with some sort of pattern can be represented with patterns of bits.
