Term 2b, week 5

Our weaving is coming along nicely. Some of us were at the point of finishing and learning how to tie it off to remove it from the weaving board.

Zilan became our expert weaver and helped others with the process.

It has been lovely to see the class working together to help each other with the weaving process.

Our dance routine is coming along nicely too. The second half of the class got to have a go this week and they were brilliant at learning the moves and keeping in time with one another.

The chalks were out at lunchtimes this week. Look at the dragon Muni drew, isn’t it amazing?

On Friday, it was Purple Day 2021 which looks at raising awareness of epilepsy and supporting those living with it. The whole school got involved, coming to school wearing something purple and donating money to Epilepsy Action.

In Year 5, we created a spectrum of purple and learned more about epilepsy including what to do if we ever saw someone having a seizure.

We had our weekly celebration assembly too. We continued to discuss and ask questions about epilepsy and raising awareness of it. Year 5 were great in sharing what they had learned.

Also, as usual, we celebrated those who have done some great work this week...

...Miley was in Golden Book for making great progress in maths- well done Miley!

Najla was also in Golden Book for making great progress in maths.

Unfortunately, she couldn’t be in school to receive her reward due to isolating but she joined us in assembly via Teams. Great work Najla!

Miruna was Year 5’s Star of the Week for making excellent progress in her learning and understanding of English. She joined our class a few weeks ago and couldn’t speak any English at all so this is a great achievement for her.
