Last night's game was the last home game in the regular season for seniors, and they celebrated it with a recognition ceremony before the game and a win against Cathedral in OT.
Thoughts from the Seniors
"It was an honor to take the field with my brothers for our last regular season home game," Tyler Olston said. "With my injuries, it has made me very strong. Life doesn't always go the way anyone had planned or anticipated it to go. Therefore, it's important to accept the circumstances and give it all I got. Life is too short to be down, so even though I would rather be out there every play, I love doing anything and everything I can do to help the team win."
"Going from watching the seniors walk and get announced in the past to being one of those seniors was a really weird feeling, but last night was the most energetic game I've ever been a part of," Mikala Gardner said. "We stayed together as a team the entire game and that's what gave us the extra momentum to win in OT."
"The game last night was the perfect way to end the regular season at home," Jack Kellams said. "This game will definitely be a memorable one and to have it end the way it did on senior night it couldn't have been any more perfect. I love that we were able to get this big win and do it with the group of guys I have been playing with my whole life makes it even better. It was a special one."
"Playing our last home game hits hard," Marek Mayes said. "It makes us realize that we only have a few more moments with each other as a team. Now with post season here, we will fight as hard as we can to get another week to be with each other."
The football team won 44 to 41. Don't forget to support senior Russ Yeast (pictured left) by voting for him to play in the Under Armour All American Game.
