Lipan Apache

Lipan Apache belongs to the Athabaskan language family. It is a dialect of Eastern Apache. According to Ethnologue, there are no known first language speakers of this dialect, and, thus, it is considered dormant: "The language serves as a reminder of heritage identity for an ethnic community, but no one has more than symbolic proficiency." (Ethnologue)
