Creative Communicator + Knowledge Constructor = Creative Constructor

Discover how to create hands-on learning experiences that inspire students to use technology to communicate, share ideas, curate information and solve problems. At the first-ever ISTE Creative Constructor Lab, you'll create vibrant, media-rich learning environments for your K-12 students using green screens, recording rooms and creation stations while you collaborate with peers. You’ll learn from local and global speakers and gain inspiration from Seattle venues. Spots are limited — don’t wait to register!

New Tool: Google's VR Tour Creator

Tour Creator enables students, teachers, and anyone with a story to tell, to make a VR tour using imagery from Google Street View or their own 360 photos. The tool is designed to let you produce professional-level VR content without a steep learning curve. Learn more about Tour Creator by watching the video above or reading the blog post here.

Google Certified Educator Level 1

Are you interested in becoming a Google Certified Educator Level 1? If you're an educator who knows how to use Google tools in the classroom, this certification proves your proficiency. You can study for the exam using these skills checklists from Eric Curts or by going through the training at the Google for Edu Teacher Center. When you're ready to take the exam, IT will pay the $10 certification fee! Register to express your interest in taking the exam on PPS Pepper, under technology and contact Melissa Lim, mlim@pps.net, if you'd like a voucher code to take the exam.

Virtual Office Hours

This year, I'll be holding virtual office hours on the third Wednesday of each month from 4-4:30pm. Join me in my Google Hangout where I'll showcase some cool tools, answer education technology-related questions, have conversations or get feedback. I'll send out reminders, so just click the link at the scheduled time!
