C. Robinson POST IMPRESSIONIST PAINTING

Title: Wheat field with Crows

Artist: Vincent Van Gogh

Year Painted: July 1890

I chose Vincent Van Gogh's Wheat field with Crows painting because the color combinations stood out to me and the texture of the painting was interesting. I also chose this painting because it is said to be his suicide note and has many hidden messages.

I think the subject matter of this painting is about Vincent's feeling of being alone and depressed. The middle path represents his confusion and his want to give up and end his life.

I think Vincent was trying to accomplish a sense or feeling of sadness, confusion, or distress. He was trying to show his own feelings in his work.

The tools that he used were pallet knife and a paint brush. The strokes were fairly even and they are very organized.
