In a word, I am a creator. I create communications in the written and visual form to educate, build and maintain brands, establish processes, tell stories and express value.

At Saint Augustine's University, I do a number of things. I consult with departments, offices and organizations (development, alumni affairs, admissions, student affairs, to name a few) across the campus on how to best communicate and achieve their missions in a manner that is aligned to the overall mission of the University, and in doing so, I: create communications strategies and content, and manage the design of marketing collateral. I also create and implement policies and best practices that help maintain the integrity of the brand; craft communications on behalf of the University president; maintain relationships with vendors; prepare media advisories and press releases to garner coverage of University news and events; review and edit all external-facing communications; educate students on proper usage of social media; produce and review multimedia projects; plan segments for University radio news show; and, sit on committees as the PR & marketing lead for major University events.

At Young, Black&, I create space for young people of color with various interests to tell their stories, share their expertise, get resources, and learn about other people. I create and review all content, manage the website (it's Wordpress) and social media, and create all graphics. I also produce video content and reach out to individuals for features.

As a freelance copywriter and brand communications strategist, I have crafted engaging messages and stories for individuals and small businesses. From brand positioning statements and website copy, to social media content and press kits, I put words together to engage audiences and communicate value.
(RGM is the marketing consulting firm through which I used to do consulting. It was my firm; however, I no longer freelance under that name.)
