The Global Engagement Learning Community

Interested in international topics? The Global Engagement Learning Community is open to first year students who appreciate a global perspective. These students will learn about diversity from historical and current perspectives, take advantage of internationally focused events, and learn to think critically and reflectively about their global knowledge and understanding. This Learning Community is great for those who are interested in international studies, international relations, and studying abroad.

“Learning Communities opened the gates for me to meet new people and professors, and it's where I met my two now closest friends. There are experiences you can only find there that you'll miss out on.”

Courtney Bacon

Students in the Global Engagement LC will learn:

  • how to appreciate diversity from historical and current perspectives
  • how to take advantage of internationally focused events and resources on campus and in the St. Louis community
  • how to think critically and reflectively about their global knowledge and understanding
