Tribute to the Top 10 Hip-Hop/Rap Artists by Max lonsert

10. Cam'ron

Born: 4th Feb. 1976, Harlem, New York

Cam'ron (aka Killa Cam) is one of Harlem's pioneers in the 90s Hip-Hop scene. In the past decade Cam'ron has shifted away from the music industry and takes on the role of different characters in movies such as "Paid In Full", while working on multiple projects as an entrepreneur.

9. Gucci Mane

Born: 12th Feb. 1980, Bessemer, Alabama

Gucci Mane, recently released from Prison, is one of East Atlanta's most important artists in the 'Trap' scene. Any new and upcoming artists would strive for Gucci's approval, as his talent and street credibility made him a hip-hop sensation throughout the early 2000s. Even though Gucci Mane has separated himself from the brutal, drug and crime filled music of his past, many artists seek to collaborate with Gucci Mane to this day.

8. Wiz Khalifa

Born: 8th Sep. 1987, Minot, North Dakota

Wiz Khalifa is currently one of hip-hop's superstars, after being active in the rap scene for the better part of two decades. His work habit is impeccable and he changes up his style and flow every now and then to attract new fans and keep his current ones satisfied. However, not everyone is approving of this and he has received a lot criticism for being a victim of the commercial music industry.

7. Dave East

Born: 3rd Jun. 1988, Harlem, New York City

Dave East, recently spotted and co-signed by hip-hop legend Nas, is from one of the United States 'Meccas' of hip-hop, East Harlem. He is a very young and talented individual, paying hommage to an old school style flow and lyricism, something he is praised for continuously.

6. Snoop Dogg

Born: 20th Oct. 1971, Long Beach, California

Snoop Dogg is arguably hip-hop's 'Godfather', being actively in the rap scene since the early 90's, together with hip-hop legends 2Pac and The Notorious B.I.G. He has since underwent transformations to a reggae and rasta style, naming himself Snoop Lion. This transformation has sparked a lot of controversy and is one of the reasons of his 'downfall' in the hip-hop industry.
