"NONE OF MY CLASSES ARE IN PERSON THIS SEMESTER, AND SO I REALLY MISS JUST WALKING TO CLASS AND RUNNING INTO PEOPLE THAT AREN'T IN MY CLOSEST CIRCLE OF FRIENDS."

Caroline Swanson is a 22-year-old SMU senior from Fresno, California, graduating in the class of 2021.

She is a marketing major in the Cox School of Business. Caroline is also a bachelor of business administration scholar and part of the honors marketing program.

In Chi Omega, she held a position each year, including an event co-chair, social media co-chair, and secretary.

Caroline felt disconnected from her normal school activities this year because of COVID-19, but she kept herself busy by doing schoolwork, being with friends and going to workout classes.

She also used some of her free time to apply for jobs. She originally thought she wanted to work in public relations, but she quickly figured out it wasn’t for her. Instead, she landed a job as a marketing and sales associate at Dallas-based ISN, a renowned contractor and supplier management company.

Caroline is sad her time at SMU has come to an end, but she is looking forward to what comes next.

"WITH CORONA, I WAS REALLY MOTIVATED TO GET A JOB AS FAST AS I COULD BECAUSE I SAW HOW HARD IT WAS FOR THE SENIORS LAST YEAR."
