Duvchi This Kind of ocean

About Duvchi

Three-times Grammy-nominated producer, songwriter and artist Duvchi is finally back with his highly-anticipated new album – ‘This Kind of Ocean’.

Duvchi has a striking originality in his melodies and lyrics that challenges the framework of contemporary pop and soul.

‘With the World’ was released in 2015 to instant acclaim from critics and listeners saying they had found a new world and sound they wish to never leave. Duvchi’s debut single ‘Turtleduvs’ was chosen as ‘Song of the Year’ by Swedish national radio.

Having spent the last years focusing on writing hits for other artists and among else having his songs recorded by Rihanna and Zara Larsson, Duvchi is now back with an even more spectacular set of musical work. ‘This Kind of Ocean’ is the soundtrack of a personal journey – both Duvchi’s and your own.

‘This Kind of Ocean’ features collaborations with Valley Girl (co-wrote and co-produced ‘Scared to be Lonely’ with Martin Garrix & Dua Lipa), Kaydence (co-wrote Ariana Grande’s ‘7 Rings’ and ‘Better Off’), Shy Nodi (featured on Neiked’s ‘Old School Love’ and co-wrote Mike Perry’s ‘The Ocean’) and Swedish indie queen Nadia Nair. Mixed by Manny Marroquin (Kanye West, Rihanna etc), Chris Galland (Lykke Li, FKA Twigs etc), Jason Gilbert (Eminem, Taio Cruz etc) and Duvchi himself.

With the highly sought-after visual artist, Simon Stålenhag, attached to direct a music video to the project as well as the visuals, it is safe to say that ‘This Kind of Ocean’ is a masterpiece not only musically, but visually. Stålenhag is currently out with his big TV series 'Tales From The Loop' on Amazon Prime.

Jens Duvsjö, which is the name behind Duvchi, creates a world around his music and this worldcombined is what we call Duvchi.

This is Hector, a re-accuring figure throughout the album 'This Kind of Ocean'. He is created by the visual artist Simon Stålenhag and he's featured here on the artwork for the single 'Altitude'. He's featured on all artwork for the singles as well as the album cover.

Simon Stålenhag is also the artist behind 'Tales From The Loop' - the lead TV series on Amazon Prime this year.

The single's artwork are included in the physical LP vinyl as high quality photo prints. Will look beautiful on your wall.

Swedish indie queen Nadia Nair is the feature artist on the track 'Geronimo'. Her big and dreamy voice triggered Simon Stålenhag to direct a video for the song and elaborates the world of Hector in motion. Watch the video for 'Geronimo' Below.
