The Himalayas

If you stop at the Himalayas you can see their rich landscape, forests, and river valleys. You can also come stay at the mountain villages where it is nice and warm! The Himalayas also includes alpine meadows, and beautiful lakes. Although this is a beautiful place, there are 136 endangered animals. For instance, Asian elephants, one-horned rinoceros, and water buffalos.

Plateu of Tibet

The Tibetan Plateau is sometimes called "The Roof of the World" and is the worlds highest and largest plateau. It has an area of 2,500,000 square kilometers. It's about five times the size of Metropolitan, France. While you are visiting you might see some wild animals. You might see the rhesus monkey, leopards, clouded leopards, black bears, wild cats and more.

The Taklimakan Desert

When you visit the Taklimakan Desert you can see its high mountain ranges. You can see the Tien Shan which is in the North, the Kunlum mountain in the South, the Pamris in the West, and the Nur which is in the East. Since it's a desert it has very low vegetation. In depressions the ground water is 10 to 15 feet under ground.

Gobi Desert

If you visit the Gobi desert in Southern Mongolia you can see some very interesting animals such as the Asian viper, prezewalski horse, Bactrian camel and more. Did you know that the Gobi desert is the fifth largest desert in the world. The word Gobi means large and dry in the Mongolian language.

The North China Plain

This plain covers about 158,000 square miles. Wheat, Cotten, sesame seeds, peanuts and tabacoo is grown here. Most of their rivers that run through here are elevated beds. Almost every 2 out of 3 years there is widespread flooding. In 1994 there where project for flood control.

Yellow River

Did you know that the yellow river is the second longest river in Asia. It's also the sixth longest river system in the world. Yellow river comes from the huge amounts of yellow in the river.

Chang Jiang River

This is the longest river in both China and Asia. It's about 3,915 miles long. The basin is about 2,000 miles long.

Bay of Benagal

In the Bay of Bengal it has marine animals. It's the largest bay in the world. The Bay of Bengal was called The Chola Lake. It's on the Northeastern part of the Indian Ocean.

The dead sea

This sea has the lowest evelation. It's 1,300 feet below sea level. It's 50 square miles long and 11 miles in width. The surface area is 394 square miles.
