International student ambassadors Get to Know Your Ambassadors

Liberty University's Ambassador Program is focused on experienced international students mentoring incoming international students and helping them have the best student experience possible. Your ambassador will help you face many different situations in America including language barriers, local cuisine, the education system and transitioning to American culture. You should receive an email from your ambassador before you arrive on campus. It is highly encouraged that you get to know your ambassador well because they can help the transition to Liberty University easier and more enjoyable.

GoEun Elena kim

Hi, there! I am GoEun Elena Kim, a senior at Liberty University and I am studying Commercial Music: Artist Development. I believe God has a special calling in my life that He chose me to become a believer in Jesus Christ. He brought me to Liberty University to train my faith to maturity and to become a champion for Christ. There is nothing I can boast in me but Christ and here I am with His amazing grace. God has gifted me a heart of worship, serving, and loving others. Ultimately, my life is to reflect His goodness and to glorify Him alone.

Andres Cordova Davila

I am an international student from Lima, Peru. I recently graduated from Industrial and System Engineering and I am currently pursuing an MBA in Project Management. My favorite sport is soccer, but I like playing any sport.

Ella P. Tarr

My name is Emmanuel-la P. Tarr, was born in Nimibia and soon after moved to Monrovia, Liberia, where I grew up with both my parents, Apostle James and Mrs. Matilda Tarr. I have an older sister, a younger sister, and a little brother, along with three nieces and two nephews. I went to several high schools because my family relocated many times during my teen years and earlier. I came to the United States in August 2017 for University. My major is Government: Politics and Policy and I graduate in spring 2021. I am a lover of Christ and I live for his kingdom!

Lydia Yohannes

Hello, my name is Lydia Yohannes, and I am from Ethiopia. I have 2 sisters and 2 brothers; you can tell I grew up in a big size family. I am currently a senior at Liberty University with a Triple major in Computer Science: Software Engineering, Computer Science: Cyber Security, and Computer Science: Information Security with a double minor in Business and Mathematics. I first chose Liberty because of the scholarship I got, but now I can say it was God’s plan from the beginning, and I can’t see myself in any other college than Liberty University. The students and faculty here are really welcoming and will make you feel right at home. I am personally excited to meet you, and lastly, welcome to the Liberty family.

Raul Rizik Mejia

My name is Raul Rizik Mejia. I live in Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic, which is a small island in the Caribbean. My father is of Lebanese descent, my mom is of Spanish descent but I currently live in the beautiful island of La Española (Dominican Republic). I am currently studying Business Administration with a double cognate in International Business and Entrepreneurship. My first language is Spanish. I became a believer when I was 16 years old at a boot camp sponsored by my Church. Even though baseball is the main sport in my country, I am a big soccer fan. My favorite team is AC Milan from Italy. I am also a big basketball and tennis fan. I am excited to meet new wonderful people from all around the world and make them feel at home at Liberty University.

Hi my name is Nana Akua Serwaah Oddei. I am from Ghana and I’m in my first year in liberty Graduate school, studying Masters in Public Health. I choose to study at Liberty University out of all the other universities because of its Christianity setting. I needed a safe, kind, peaceful and Christ filled environment and Liberty is the best of all.

Nhat Truong

Hello everyone, my name is Nhat Truong, a senior student at Liberty University. I am from Danang, a beautiful city in the middle of Vietnam. I started at Liberty University in 2016 as a Biomedical Science major. Attending Liberty University, I have had various opportunities to work alongside scientists who possess terminal degrees and world-class expertise in biology and chemistry. Up to now, I have been directly involved in more than three original science projects that have potentials for publication. Also, when confronting difficulties in life, I always receive great and timely support from the International Student Center. At Liberty University, I have been making friends with people from all over the world. Despite coming from different backgrounds, the majority of the people I met share genuine love for the Lord and other fellows. As an ambassador, I would love to share that love with you. Hopefully, you will enjoy your time at Liberty as much as I do.

My name is Karl Ocius. i was born and raised from Port-au-Prince, Haiti. I completed a Bachelor in Biomedical Sciences in May 2018. I am currently pursuing a master's degree in Biomedical Sciences. I have a lot of hobbies but the favorite ones are soccer, basketball, movies and so one. I also like to drive.

Andersson Do Nascimento Ribeiro

Andersson Ribeiro is a junior in the mechanical engineering program at Liberty University. He was born in Joao Pessoa, Brazil. He went to school in Brazil until he graduated high school and decided to pursue further studies in America, specifically, Liberty University. Currently, Andersson is researching on renewable energy devices based on environment situations. His ultimate goal is to spread the name of God through engineering work for communities in Brazil. Interesting fact, he loves to be around the international community at Liberty University.

Samrawit Abraham Asfaha

Hi, my name is Samrawit Abraham Asfaha, and I am from Eritrea. I am currently pursuing my MBA in International Business, and I just completed my first year. I pursued my Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Marketing, in Uganda. The U.S. and especially Liberty University, has been a whole new great adventure and experience that has enabled me to grow in an all rounded way. Initially, I came to Liberty because someone great recommended it to me, but so far it has helped me to live and explore my burning desire to learn, challenge, and grow myself constantly and live the potential God has put within me. Liberty is such a great environment to be in, and I promise you that you’ll feel welcomed and at home as soon as you get here. I hope you come ready for a new life experience with a positive attitude and make the best out of it.
