Scotland Men's Hockey Finish 3rd in World League 2

After just losing out, 2-0, to France in their semi-final match on Saturday, Scotland beat Wales 4-0 on Sunday to claim third spot in Hockey World League 2 in Belfast. Coach Moodie was extremely happy with the performance of his 3 Edinburgh boys as they helped Scotland to their 3rd place finish. Congratulations to the whole team!

Successful Scots in Six Nations

The six nations has come to a close and Scotland's Women's side recorded their second win of the competition on Friday night against Italy, winning out, 14-12. After earning their first win in the six nations since 2010 over Wales last month, the women's side came from behind to beat Italy and found themselves finishing 4th in this years six nations. This is the first time in over ten years the side have recorded two wins at the six nations. Congratulations to all the team and we are especially proud of the efforts put in by our Edinburgh University athletes past and present!

Women's Rugby on the Road to Twickenham

Despite the action of the Six Nations ending on Saturday the excitement on the pitch continued for our women's rugby team as they hosted Durham on Wednesday in their BUCS Championship semi-final. A strong defensive effort from Edinburgh led the girls to a 22-10 win over Durham, sending them on to the final against Northumbria at Twickenham next Thursday! Congratulations and good luck in the final team!

Men's Rugby Trophy Final

Men's rugby travelled to BUCS Big Wednesday in Bath this week to face a rival Scottish side in their Trophy Final. The Edinburgh men had a tough first half, falling behind 25-5, as both teams played in adverse weather conditions. The men's side didn't recover in the second half and Glasgow ran away with the win, 39-10. Congratulations on a great season and representing in the final boys!

BUCS Team Swimming Championships 2017

Edinburgh University's swimmers were in Sheffield this weekend competing in the BUCS team swimming championships. Some great swims saw the team win the Championship Bronze and Shield Gold for Edinburgh. Congratulations to the UofE swim team!

Pride Come to Pleasance

This Saturday we are proud to host our partners and Scotland's first professional women's basketball team, Caledonia Pride, as they face Sheffield Hatters. We have 8 Edinburgh University Performance athletes competing on the team and our own head coach Bart Sengers also leads the team. Good luck girls and for those of you going along, enjoy the action!

Archery Success at BUCS Indoor Finals

Congratulations also go to our archers this weekend who were competing at the BUCS Indoor Archery Finals. The team brought back 4 Gold medals, 2 Silvers and 1 Bronze! An impressive haul from all in the Performance Archery Programme!

Orienteers Shine at First BUCS Race of the Season

The medal count continues from this weekend as our Orienteering team came home from their first weekend of competition in the Men's, Women's and Overall Championships with 3 Gold medals, and 2 Bronze medals. The team are off to a great start in what is only the first of their BUCS races this season! Well done everyone!

Women's Fencing Bring Back Gold in BUCS Championship

Edinburgh University's Women's Fencing Team were in Bath on Wednesday competing in their BUCS championship final against Durham. The Edinburgh girls came out on top winning the Gold, 2-1 over Durham. Congratulations to the whole team!
