A Look Inside University of Rochester School of Nursing

Located in the heart of the world-class University of Rochester Medical Center,

in the city of Rochester, NY,

the School of Nursing features a tight-knit, friendly campus community.

Housed in Helen Wood Hall,

and just across the street from Strong Memorial Hospital, Golisano Children's Hospital, and Wilmot Cancer Center,

clinical experiences are just a short walk away.

Plus, classrooms and faculty offices are all located under one roof,

allowing students to connect with professors and peers in the halls,

in offices or conference rooms,

or in the lounge.

The School features the latest technologies throughout the Skills Lab,

Simulation Lab, and other experiential learning spaces.

The Loretta C. Ford Education Wing bears the name of our founding dean Loretta Ford, co-creator of the nurse practitioner model.

It features smart classrooms, a 170-person auditorium, a seminar room, and atrium.

And, coming in May 2022, three floors will be added for new expanded experiential learning spaces.

The new space will support high-fidelity simulation, standardized patient scenarios, virtual/augmented reality experiences, and task-based education for development of psychomotor skills.

It will also be used for case-based learning, team-based learning, and debriefing activities.
