Was reconstruction a success? Triniti standberry

Female teacher in Massachusetts

I think that reconstruction was a success. I believe this was very successful because after all of the things this one finally came into play. Reconstruction changed everything for the better. Including the slaves that were freed at this time. My whole goal was to abolish slavery and didn't want it to even be a thing. Going to all of the abolitionist movements, and speaking at public places I say it was all worth it. This is most definitely why I believe the Reconstruction was a success. It changed so many lives in such a positive way. Including mine and others that had the same intentions. Things people weren't able to do legally, can now do so because of this great thing called the reconstruction movement.
