Introduction to the Sport Industry The Role of the government in sport and leisure

Parliamentary Fellowship

The Parliamentary Fellowship gives Members of Parliament and Peers the opportunity to build a better understanding of sport and how it can positively effect society. Through the scheme MPs and Peers are given the chance to make a real difference to grassroots sport in England.

You should now read through the document on learnzone titled 'Fellowship 2013 brochure' and think about the following questions:

1 - Why should the government invest in sport and leisure?

2 - Why do the governmental departments need to work together?

3 - What are the advantages and disadvantages of this joined-up thinking?

You should add your comments and thoughts to the forum on the learnzone page, under week 3. This will form part of your discussion for task 3 and therefore the use of quotes/references from suitable sources would be beneficial to your report and your research for this.
