Gender Equality is the state of equal access to rights and opportunities unaffected by gender. As of right now, gender inequality in sports is very important. However, their are many controversial ideas around this topic. Some people believe things should stay the same because of traditional values and beliefs, but some people belief that their needs to be a change.

Gender Pay Gap in 2016

According to a report released by the Senate Joint Economic Committee Democratic Staff, women make less money than men. Today on average, a women earns 79 cents for every dollar a man earns. A women's average annual earnings are $10,800 less than men's.

Above shows, five United States women national team soccer players. Alex Morgan, Hope Solo, Megan Rapinoe, Carli Lloyd, and Becky Sauerbrunn. They are promoting their campaign of "Equal Play, Equal Pay". They believe that since they play equal to the men, they should be paid equally. The women who have won the World Cup 3 times, and the Olympics twice are being paid less than the men, who didn't even qualify for the Olympics last year. The men's team gets paid $5000 for showing up to the game and $3166 for winning. While the women get paid$1350 for winning and receive no money for loosing. Since they are standing up for what they believe in so such we. Gender Equality is a issue that we need to face as a world and help get things equal and fair to everyone.

This shows how much a man makes versus how much a women makes. This picture shows how corrupt our world is. In our society today, all men and all women need to be equal and make the same amount of wages in the work area, sports, politically, and everywhere!

This is what our world needs to look like from here on out. We as a world, need to stand out and have a voice towards this issue. As a community, as a nation, as a family, we need to join together and create an equal world that will benefit us all. More and more people are joining in on this fight, you should too, not only for yourself, but so people who come after you can have an equal life.
