Activism in Sports Allowed or banned??

Since the early 1990's players who have excelled in their profession have used their fame and popularity to shed light on the many of the controversial topics today. Players all the way from high school to the major leagues have all had their input on the topics that plague the United States. Topics like police brutality and racial discrimination have all made their way on to fields and courts all over the U.S. Fans and activists all have their own opinion on player activism; some is positive and encouraging while others think it is not the right time to do it. The ongoing debate on whether or not players should bring political and social issues to their job is making everyone ask "what has happened to our sports".

Lyrics to "Where is the Love"

What's wrong with the world, mama

People livin' like they ain't got no mamas

I think the whole world addicted to the drama

Only attracted to things that'll bring you trauma...

But if you only have love for your own race

Then you only leave space to discriminate

And to discriminate only generates hate

And when you hate then you're bound to get irate, yeah...

Madness is what you demonstrate

And that's exactly how anger works and operates

Man, you gotta have love just to set it straight

Take control of your mind and meditate

Let your soul gravitate to the love, y'all, y'all
