SK8Forum is a skateboard news/Forum website where all the passionate can exchange about skateboarding, find news and comment it, be aware of the events, promotions and be part of a real Skateboarding community.

Social media strategy is important for companies nowadays, particularly for web services/social medias such as SK8 Forum. Effective web marketing is the key to solid online presence, to better reach potential users and “exist” on the web.

In order to achieve this, the first step would be to create a web presence, in the form of social media accounts, and emailing, in order to create awareness about ourselves,and create a CRM contact base and fidelize users. Spam can be very damaging to a company’s reputation if annoying and poorly executed. This is why an audit of the social media environment our company belongs to is important to help target potential users.

After having done an audit analyze, we’ll act in consequences and use all the social medias that could give an interest to the customer we target. We will create an active facebook page giving news about the forum and create a community that could integrate the forum. We will create a twitter account giving reaction of skateboarding news and finally we would create a youtube page giving review of Skateboard release. Our plan is to reach a base of 50 000 likes on facebook after the first year, with a steady 50% growth in the second year, and 35 000 followers on twitter, growing 60% the following year. We will post 3 articles a day on the facebook page, with a target 100 likes and 30 comments, as well as 5 pictures, targetted 500 likes and 100 comments. The social media manager tweets on average 15 times a day, often reacting to news about the skating world. On average, his tweets are retweeted 200 times and favourited 60.

Our inspiration for our Social media strategy is based on reddit’s strategy for facebook, saturday night that is a tv show that expanded its consumer base by releasing part of the tv show on a youtube page. And our emailing strategy was based on Apple’s .

Then we’ll constantly test and evaluate our in order to follow our web marketing plan. We’ll use URL reducers and utm code in order to follow our links and follow the numbers of visit of our pages from the social media with “google analytic” so that we can analyze our success and failures and adjust our social media strategy in consequence.
