Bridgton Academy Football Announces 2019 nli signees

February 6 was National Letter of Intent Signing Day for NCAA Division I and II football programs, and the Bridgton Academy Wolverines football team was proud to have nine student-athletes announcing their commitments to play football at the next level, including NCAA Division I BCS powerhouse Baylor University - as well as two future UMaine Black Bears.

Zoltan Panyi (Scarborough, ME/UMaine)

The first Black Bear is Zoltan Panyi (Scarborough). Panyi came to Bridgton Academy via Scarborough High where he had an extremely successful, championship career with the Red Storm. The 6’ 2” 200 lb. quarterback joins a Black Bear team which made it to the NCAA D I FCS national semifinal game. “Zoltan is one of the top high school student-athletes in Maine that used a year of prep school to really develop his game,” says UMaine Head Football Coach Nick Charlton.

Bryan Hanly (Quincy, MA/UMaine)

Joining Panyi in Orono is Bryan Hanly of Quincy, MA. Hanly, a 5’ 10” 256 lb. defensive lineman, is on Coach Charlton’s radar for a number of reasons: “Along with being a great football player, Bryan is an elite student that will be a great addition to our family,” says Coach Charlton.

Bridgton Academy’s other signees are spread all over the country. Niadre Zouzoua (Brockton, MA) originally a member of the Bridgton Academy Class of 2017, spent two years at Monroe Community College until Baylor University made the call. The 6’ 5”, 230 lb. defensive end is looking to make an immediate impact with the Bears.

Also signing with Baylor is offensive lineman Davis DiVall (Scottsdale, AZ). A semester was all it took for the 6’ 5” 282 lb. DiVall to convince Baylor that he was there man on the offensive line.

Quarterback and all-around, hard-nosed football player Colin Frary (Swampscott, MA) is now a member of the Wagner University football squad. The 5’ 11” 207-lb. southpaw can be used in so many ways and is sure to find his way into the Seahawks’ offensive gameplan.

Jha'Mil King (Morrisville, NJ/Shippensburg University)

Shippensburg University will welcome Jha’Mil King. The Morrisville, NJ native is a 5’ 7” 160 lb. running back who turned an extremely successful season with the Wolverines (including a 200-yard rushing performance vs. Norwich University) into a tremendous opportunity with the Raiders.

Nate Harvey (Newtonville, MA/Merrimack College)

Nate Harvey of Newtonville, MA has already joined the Merrimack College football squad. The 6’ 2” 215 defensive end is eyeing some serious playing time for the Warriors next season.

Wide receiver/defensive back Luke Hatch (Heber City, UT) was another Wolverine who departed for higher education in December. Marist College is Luke’s new home, as the 6’, multi-talented Hatch joined the Red Fox football squad to begin the second semester.

Travis Abate (Collinsville, CT/Southern Connecticut State University)

Offensive lineman Travis Abate (Collinsville, CT) stayed within an hour’s drive of home, as he committed to Southern Connecticut State University in nearby New Haven. Equally comfortable on both sides of the ball, Abate will make the most of his 6’ 2” 289 lb. frame for the Owls.
