" Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves." Romans 12:10

Each week our faculty meets together, and we take turns leading in devotions. One devotional that was shared last year has continued to impact my thought process. It was the challenge to start a Gratitude Journal - every day writing down something for which you are thankful. Sometimes it might be just one simple thing, and on other days many things might come to mind. Intentionally giving thanks each day will turn a day of thanksgiving into a habit of thanksliving. A favorite old hymn reminds us to, "Count your blessings - name them one by one; count your blessings - see what God hath done." Counting your blessings -what a perfect start to writing your very own Gratitude Journal!

Count Your Blessings, words by Johnson Oatman (1856-1922)

When upon life's billows you are tempest tossed, when you are discouraged thinking all is lost, count your many blessings - name them one by one, and it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

Are you ever burdened with a load of care? Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear? Count your many blessings - ev'ry doubt will fly, and you will be singing as the days go by.

When you look at others with their lands and gold, think that God has promised you His wealth untold; count your many blessings - money cannot buy your reward in heaven nor your home on high.

So amid the conflict, whether great or small, do not be discouraged, God is over all; count your many blessings - angels will attend, help and comfort give you to your journey's end.

Respect is the character quality we are focusing on this year. Our Photography Class taught by Mrs. Wendy Brooks recently had a photo contest. The class was assigned to photograph something that represented the word RESPECT. The above photos are a few of their submissions.

It is not happy people who are thankful, it is thankful people who are happy.

"Give thanks to the Lord for He is good; His love endures forever." I Chronicles 16:34

Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.

Thank you, LCA Families, for your heart to give and serve others. This month we again have opportunities to be a blessing to others!

Fill shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child
Provide items for the Byron Saunders Food Drive

If you are grateful for everything, then whatever you have is enough.

Happy Thanksgiving! LCA will be closed on November 27, 28 and 29. We trust that you enjoy spending quality time with your family and friends during this special holiday.

The mission of LIberty Christian Academy is to provide a quality Christian education in a Christ-centered environment in order to reach students for Christ and equip them to serve God and impact the world through biblical thought and action.
