Each year our second grade students host a Writer's Celebration! All students write and illustrate their own book! During the celebration, parents and other students are invited to read their books. They are also able to leave encouraging notes to the author. It is a great way to recognize students hard work and encourage great writing skills!
Mrs. Leeper's 3rd grade class hatched baby ducks in their classroom this year. The students learn a lot by observing the babies hatching and then caring for the baby ducks. They even take them out to the outdoor classroom for their first swim!
Track and Field Day
A huge shout out to Coach Vedder for organizing a WONDERFUL track and field day this year! The students had a great time and worked hard to earn their ribbons! Each student gets to choose 2 ribbon events to participate in. In addition, 3rd grade has the opportunity to participate in the "Wildcat Lap" in which they race a full lap around the track!
3rd Grade held their annual Rocket Day on Monday, May 8th. Students build their own rockets and then launch them on rocket day. They talk about variables when conducting experiments and record data based on the variables and how far their rockets flew. They then compare the data to see how the changed variables affected the launch.
Teacher Appreciation Week
Wow! We were so spoiled during teacher appreciation week! Lunch was provided for us by the Central Office, Parent Teacher Association, and Citizen's Bank of Rogersville. Along with lunch, teachers were showered with cards, gifts, and kind gestures throughout the week. THANK YOU to all who shared your appreciation for our hard working teachers/staff!
