Josue Gonzalez DÔA Miami Beach Bar Manager

Prior to joining the DÔA team, Cuban-born Miami native, Josue “Josh” Gonzalez started his career bar-backing for Arjun Waney as part of the opening team of Zuma Miami under global beverage director, James Shearer. The Zuma experience opened his eyes to the world of cocktails and life behind the bar allowed Josue to pursue his passions for culinary and hospitality at the same time. Since then, Josh has worked with Shiraz Catering, handling beverages for Vuitton and Dior events as well as tending bar at a Who’s Who of Miami hot spots including Swine Southern Table & Bar, Lure Fishbar, Sweet Liberty, Ball & Chain, Ricky’s and The Rum Line.

Despite being a true mixologist, Josh knows good bartending requires more than drink know-how, stating, “hospitality is even more important than mixology.”

Josue’s passion for his craft has helped him become a mover and shaker in the industry. He was recently named a 2016 Rising Star by StarChef Magazine and a Miami Zagat 30 under 30 Honoree. He also won a few mixology competitions along the way including his one for his famous Cuban Bloody Mary (a mango base, bell peppers, cilantro, Cuban coffee and a side of chicharrón) that placed him a spot in a national competition in New York City. A self-proclaimed workaholic, Josh attends U.S. Bartender Guild seminars for fun.
