SEC CHAMPIONS

LSU became the first team in SEC history to win four times en route to the SEC Tournament title. LSU beat Missouri, Tennessee, South Carolina and Arkansas to claim the 🏆

It was the first SEC title in program history for LSU. Four Tigers were named to the all-tournament team (Alex Thomas, Adrienne Richardson, Shannon Cooke and Caroline Brockmeier), and Brockmeier was tabbed as the MVP of the tournament.

LSU's three seniors provided a tremendous amount of leadership on and off the pitch in 2018. The trio combined to make 212 appearances over their careers; Thomas had 83, Pitre had 68 and Brockmeier had 61, and they led the Tigers back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2015.

NCAA Tournament First Round

The Tigers hosted an NCAA Tournament game for the third time in program history on Nov. 11 in front of a season high 1,309 fans as they battled with Boston University.

LSU and Boston U. battled to a 0-0 draw after 110 minutes of play and the match would be decided in PKs.

The Tigers prevailed in PKs by a tally of 2-1 thanks to some clutch saves by Caroline Brockmeier. After giving up a goal in the first round, Brockmeier saved the final four attempts and Abbey Newton and Lucy Parker converted their shots to advance LSU to the Round of 32.

With LSU trailing in the SEC title game, freshman Shannon Cooke scored the most spectacular goal of her career to equalize the match at one in the 72nd minute.

Lucy Parker (top right) was named to the All-SEC First Team, while Alex Thomas (bottom right) and Adrienne Richardson (bottom left) were named to the All-SEC Second Team and Abbey Newton (top left) was a member of the SEC All-Freshman Team.
